Appointment Types & Expectations

  • During your initial appointment, we will discuss the intake form you filled out with your health history, supplements & prescribed medications. We will also talk about your lifestyle, diet, mindset and your goals.

Appointments can last up to 90 minutes, but can go longer if needed. After the appointment I will email you my recommendations and a list of reputable (organic & sustainably harvested) suppliers. You are free to email me with any questions about your protocol or to schedule a follow up if new issues arise that you’d like to speak about.

  • During our follow-up we will discuss your ongoing progress towards your health goals. We may address deeper/lower priority health concerns or fine tune your existing regimen. I will always follow up our appointment with an email summarizing the changes to your protocol.

Follow-up appointments can last between 30 and 60 minutes, but can go longer if needed.

What Makes Ivy Different?

Ivy Ham went through her own healing journey and learned by process of elimination, some of the best tools to support the body in healing. She speaks from personal, raw and uncomfortable experiences in her own life, dealing with trauma, medical gaslighting, feeling hopeless, and knows intimately what it takes to rebirth from the ashes by taking charge of her own healing.

Ivy welcomes humans of all identities, belief systems, religions, races and backgrounds. Though we are all unique, we are all from the same source, and have similar struggles.

We are all human, come as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you available for in-person appointments?

Yes, I offer appointments where we can meet in person. Please let me know you’d like an in-person appointment when you book, or contact me after booking so we can work out the details.

What is Herbalism?

Herbalism is the study use of plants as medicine. I personally also view herbalism as a holistic study of the body and incorporate other healing ideologies into my practice that make sense. I would refer to my practice as being functional herbalism that takes notes from homeopathy, German New Medicine, and traditional healing paradigms such as Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine & Western herbalism.

How can I prepare for my first consultation with Ivy Ham?

Please fill out the intake form on my website. If you didn’t receive one, please reach out and I will email you a copy to fill out. It’s important for me to know your health history and any supplements you may be on before your appointment so that we can have a more informed discussion about your health.

Does Ivy offer any classes or workshops on herbalism?

I offer workshops and classes periodically. If you are interested in organizing a workshop with me in the Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas, please reach out by submitting a request on my events page!

Can I buy herbs directly from Ivy Ham even if I am not a patient?

I am happy to supply herbs for you, especially if I happen to have the ones you need on hand. I can order herbs for you as well, or recommend reliable, sustainable and organic sources for you to order them. Please let me know your preference at your appointment.

If you are just looking to purchase herbs, please reach out or visit my shop! I often have tea blends for sale that are not posted in my shop, or could make something custom for you. Shipping available anywhere in the USA.

Are there any risks or side effects associated with herbal treatments?

With any herb, drug, lifestyle change or mental health issue, there is always a risk for side effects. We are all created differently from one another, so not all things will work for everyone. I always encourage my clients to work with other health professionals like their primary care doctor to ensure they are getting the best possible outcomes.

What is the cancellation policy for appointments?

Life happens, and I completely understand that sometimes you can’t make it for unforeseen reasons. Please try to give as much notice as possible, and we can reschedule an appointment to a more convenient time. If it becomes a habit, I may choose to impose a fee.

Can herbalism be used in conjunction with conventional medicine?

Absolutely! One of the many reasons my clients will reach out to me before beginning a new herbal protocol is to check if any of the herbs will interact with their medication(s). Some herbs do interact with drugs, so it’s important to check with me and then also run any new supplements by your primary care physician as well, for good measure.

Do you take health insurance?

No, I am not able to accept insurance of any kind.
